Anchor of Love Hospice

Bereavement (Grief) Support

Support for the family that continues after your loved one has passed — for up to thirteen months.

Bereavement (Grief) Support

Hospice care does not end when the patient dies. Bereavement support is offered to the family for up to thirteen months afterwards, because grief does not resolve on a schedule and the hardest days are often not the first ones.

How much support you want is entirely your choice. Some families want regular contact; others simply want to know someone is there if the first anniversary is hard.

What this includes

  • Follow-up contact from our bereavement team
  • One-to-one grief support for family members
  • Referral to counseling and local support groups
  • Support for children and grandchildren who are grieving
  • Acknowledgement at anniversaries and difficult dates
